I've really enjoyed my first week off of work. I spent most of my time in the super nesting mode. I went shopping on Tuesday and bought this really cool paper that I used to decorate framed mirrors. I'm going to hang them on the bottom of the shelf above Abby's changing table so that she can gaze up at the cool designs. I think she'll like the high contrast and the mirrors. They were fun to make.
Every morning I wake up and wonder if today's "the day". Every night I dream of going into labor, my water breaking, having contractions. I think my mind is trying to prepare itself for the work and excitement. Again, I am so blessed to have this time off work because I feel much more ready mentally than I did a week ago.
I feel great most of the time. Evening and night times seem to be the most uncomfortable time for me. I make Brian massage my aching muscles. I'm taking little naps and the dogs on walks. I'm catching up on the phone with family and friends. I know I'll look back on this time and cherish the peaceful way I spent the last part of this part of my life (pre-mommyhood life).
Today Brian is off work (he only works M-Th now), so we get to play (when he gets up, that is). He stayed up until 2 am playing with the new video camera we got in the mail yesterday. It is really nice. I'm so glad it arrived before Abby did. We look forward to sharing little movies with all of you. We are taking Libby to the vet for her yearly check up and shots. This evening we are babysitting for our friends Tara and Casey. They have a 5 month old daughter. They will go see a movie while we watch Tatum. I'm looking forward to it.
Well, I'm going to go get the dogs. They just ate breakfast and are excited to start their day, as am I. Have a great one.

We are waiting anxiously to hear that she is on her way too! Love those mirrors! Great job! I'm so glad that you've been able to enjoy some free time before Abby makes her debut! Still want to see that belly....maybe one last time????
Dear Diana and Brian,
We are so glad you have had the opportunity, Diana, to spend this time at home before this next exciting phase of your life begins!
You wonderfully amazing and special people are the most prepared new parents to be that I have ever seen. The love and caring you have for each other will soon be shared with Abby!
Every time the phone rings, my heart skips a beat, thinking...this call must be Brian, knowing it won't be long until our special Granddaughter will be born!
We love you!
