Good morning!

Well, we just woke up about an hour ago.  Last night was a long night.  Diana was such a trooper through the contractions.  She went from birthing ball, to yoga positions, to the hot tub, and back.  We decided to get a morphine injection around 3:30AM.  This gave Diana a blissful 3 1/2 hours of sleep (me too!).  Our midwife and nursing staff have been terrific so far, they are very attentive to Diana's needs when I am standing around with shrugged shoulders and no direct course of action to act upon.  When we woke up, we talked with Rebehka (sp?) about what our options where.  She was still 4CM but was 80% effaced with about 1CM remaining.  So we are doing pitocin to help moving things along.  We decided that if pitocin was going to be involved an epidural would be a must.  They are all the rage you know.  So the epidural was just installed and Diana is in a semi-pain-free yet immobile bliss.  On we go with the process.  I would guess she will be born today around 6:30PM or so.  Anyone want to take a bet? :-)

One step closer...

Diana - as far as the "clear liquids" menu goes - make sure you get salt and pepper for the chicken broth - otherwise - BLECH! Just speaking from experience.

I'll try to make it over there at my 11am appointment, but it might be this afternoon. I will keep an eye on things on the blog so I am not imposing while Diana is pushing! :)

So excited for your both!

Good Job Diana, you are doing great!! I am glad that you are getting relief from the medication, everything you are doing is the best for Aby. I drew two more cards for you this morning
The first one is
Support- and it reads- God and the angels who love, protect and guide you are watching over you right now, you are not alone, and you are safe.
Next card is Trustworthy Guidance- you can safely move forward knowing that the angels are with you every step of the way, ask for and be open to receiving the suppor, Go for it!!

I hope this helps with some little support. Send you a big hug, you are almost there
Loves
Judy

Diana, you really look good. Glad that you were able to rest after the morphine. You too Brian, I am sure you are also tired being there for Diana and cheering her on. I know people tease you about being such a "geek", but I am really glad, my amazing son, so that all of us so far away have this opportunity to share in your wonderful moment. Rest while you can. Love, ya!

Brian, you just called with the good news that Diana is 10 cm dilated and ready to start pushing. Yeah! Grandma and Grandpa are here watching your videos and reading the blog and are excited to hear the news. Grandma says,'"We are so glad we got here in time to hear the news that Diana was ready to push!" Thanks for the phone call and we are looking forward to the next one, telling us Abby is born. Grandma and Grandpa say to tell you they love you both and look forward to their little Abby! I called Dad and he is excited too! Love ya both! Love, Mom
