It has been 9 weeks that I have been at work full time, and I am now taking off again. I get to spend the next three weeks with Abby. The difference in this time off will be that it will just be me, Abby, Bilbo, and Libby. I will be all alone with the little Smolt. Not sure what kind of trouble we will get in, but I am sure it will be a lot of fun. Diana has been doing a fantastic job getting her onto a schedule of feedings, naps, etc. So all I should have to do is implement that schedule. Sounds like a piece of cake! What could possibly go wrong ;-).
On a different note, I am very excited for my birthday this year, I am going to be going to a class on climbing Mount Rainer at REI. I am hoping to give the climb a try either this August or next August. I am not in the best of shape, and have been starting a slow plan to get in shape for the >14,000 foot mountain. Will keep you posted.

Brian, You are lucky to be able to have had the opportunity to be off work and spend time with Diana and Abby. Now, another chance in a new situation. What a special time for you and Abby to bond even more.
We know it is hard for Diana to return to work after spending so much time with Abby. Diana, she knows you love her and will be excited to see you each day when you return home from work.
It is difficult to be away from your child at any age. A mom never really gets used to it. Each stage of separation is a step in her growing up and facing new experiences that will one day make her the self confident daughter you will be proud of.
All three of you enjoy this last special day together. Make a happy memory that you will carry with you to work on Monday. When you feel sad, think of your happy time and it will make you smile!
Brian, we are glad you are going to class about mountain climbing. You are realistic that you are not in mountain climbing shape, so August 2009 would be a safer option for you...a family man. It is one of your many life goals. If you discover after learning about the perils, that physically this climb is beyond you, we know you won't give up but look for an alternative.
